Day 15: Napa Valley Gallivanting

Our dear friend Kevin scooped we up in his parents' car and after several minor detours involving chocolate crawler donuts, the return of Jaclyn's prodigal camera, and an electric typewriter, we were on our way to the wine country. Kevin obeyed his sternly aggressive NUVI that had a worse temperament than a blender on "liquefy" and we ended up at Domain Chandon. The entrance was littered with a herd of stoic mushrooms reminiscent of a scene in Alice in Wonderland.

We promptly learnt that January is off-season for the tours, so we leapt back into the car. We arrived at the Robert Mondavi winery and took an hour and a half long tour of the elegant headquarters.

Monsieur Robert Mondavi himself, donning a cork suit and encased strategically above the fireplace, kindly joined us for our wine tasting.

We tasted the Mondavi Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a nibble of duck to compliment the aromatics of the latter.

Danielle gently placed her heart in the glass of the Beringer winery, the roots of her wine of choice, where we each proceeded to purchase 4 bottles of wine in order to achieve the 25% discount.
