Day 28: SF Zoo

Yayy at the zoo! Arrived 45 minutes before closing time... but we managed to squeeze an extra hour out of our trip by dodging the zoo guards who were chasing us down.

Day 27: Day Off

Due to our strenuous work schedule, we decided to give our corpses some much needed rest. We grabbed breakfast down the street at Holy Bagel, a bagel-oriented distribution joint that surely surpasses those from Newark Deli & Bagel. We then positioned ourselves on the couch (where we remained for 7.6 consecutive hours) and watched Steel Magnolias. Danielle then proceeded to dominate the TV remote and we suffered through too many seasons of the Desperate Housewives of Orange County. In the meantime, we edited our photos and dined upon some fine delectables, i.e. bagels, brownies, cookies, icecream, wine.

Day 26: School Photo Shoot

Our morning snack [one moon pie to split] that we consumed while on the verge of passing out due to two severe cases of lightheadedness and empty tummies. We were cured by this, shall we say, cookie?
Jaclyn, thrilled as always, at Laurie's son's school for the photo shoot.

Happy little scholarly child cutting fabric as we nonchalantly take her photo.

Jaclyn carefully taking mental notes of Laurie's photographic stance and technique.

This child was building a go-kart with the help of a power saw, laser cutter, hammer, and nails. What safe and pleasant school activities the third graders of today have access to.

Dinner at Pomodoro

Eggplant Parmigana

Spongecake, some kind of cream sauce, strawberries and blueberries. MmmMmm

Day 25: Treasure Island

Imagine a desolate land, removed from civilization, as the site of a quarantine for individuals who contracted a fatally incurable disease. Then they died. That's Treasure Island.

We's day began with plucking a DVD player out of the tree from which it grew.

Seated upon the hour long bus ride that took us over the Bay Bridge and into the no man's land.

Treasure Island. Population: we.

Lovely view of the bay surrounding the man-made island.

Once we escaped the island thanks to our furious swimming efforts, we washed ashore and stumbled into the Fog City Diner, an intergalactic landmark of San Francisco.

Day 24: Haight Street, The Sequel

We returned to Haight St. after our failed plans to voyage to Treasure Island and the SF Zoo.

We spotted these irresistibly sumptuous limbs dangling over the local drag queen boutique.

All dressed up for our 18th daily Girls' Night In.

A preview of our implausibly anticipated debut music video. We've spent 4 hours on this. and counting.

Day 23: Haight Street

.
We went to the locally-renowned giggle weed/hippie district, Haight Street

And we ended the evening at the local bar The Dubliner where the matronly bartender referred to us as "babies" prior to distributing we two cosmos (Jaclyn's first).

Day 22: Indoors Day

We spent this lazy Sunday being just that. Lazy. After recuperating from the bustle and hustle of we's Eastern dwelling guests, followed by a menacing cleaning storm starring Danielle, we compiled some comps for Laurie for her Valentine's self-promo shoot. In the midst of an attempt to tackle a small army of the mini manilla envelopes, the typewriter ran out of ink. Any suggestions?
We hiked all the way up to the closest restaurant 1.5 blocks away. Basso's. We attempted to enter the adjoining room of the infamous Noe Bar, but as we approached the doorway, every single person within the bar turned and stared at we, so we scrambled back into the restaurant area.
We concluded the night with watching Cape Fear, during which we failed to resist the waves of slumber that encapsulated we.

Videos: Day 21

Day 21: Coit Tower and all that jazz

The sidewalk that we defeated on our way to the Coit Tower... That's right, the sidewalks are so steep that they had to build gradual stairs going uphill. Needless to say a particular one of we was completely out of breath and threatened to not venture any furter.

Jaclyn "Slow Poke" Hughes lagging behind (as always) as the other three [even Danielle "Out-of-Shape-and-Out-of-Breath" Cerceo] have nearly made it to the tower to begin our sightseeing journey.

There she yar.. Miss Coit Tower.

The breath-taking view from the top of the tower. Literally, once again, out of breath.

Enjoying the pleasant sight of the beloved city that lies below we.

This little cutie was creating some pleasant musical magic with the help of his trusty bongos at the Wharf.

The most graceful blimp soaring above the majestic field of clouds. Need we say more?
[This moment made Danielle's entire month-long stay worth while]

The tremendously outstanding breakdancers that attracted a monstrous crowd as they swung their hips to to beat of the boom box. [Stay tuned for video footage coming soon!]

An enjoyable Joe's Crab Shack dinner ended the evening with a bang.

Day 20: continued

After we returned from Alcatraz, we traveled back to Mission Street and decided to satiate our appetites at the well-known Cha Cha Cha Mexican restaurant famous for their tapas and sangria. It was a packed house, so as we waited 45 minutes for our table we split 2 pitchers of sangria which contained a sunken treasure at the bottom: a heap of soaking grapes. Sauteed mushrooms, fried plantas topped with black beans and sour cream, and four bbq chicken quesadillas were thoroughly devoured before we left [by we, of course]. As the four of us grew sleepy from the sangria, we headed back to our apartment and called it a night.
